Sample Letter

Write off the debt (sole name)

Use this letter when asking your creditor if they would consider writing off your debt. You can find information about how to use this letter in our fact sheet Write off debt.

Getting a write-off on your debt is likely to have a negative impact on your ability to get credit in the future for up to six years. However, a write-off may still be the best debt solution for you as it is likely that your credit file will already be negatively impacted. See our Credit reference agencies fact sheet for more information.
