Ceasing to trade (sole name)

Use this letter to inform your creditors and suppliers that your business has ceased trading if you are a sole trader or a partnership. You may need to change this letter when writing to Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs, suppliers of lease equipment or your landlord. Contact us for advice before using this letter.

Letter in joint names

You can choose to send a letter in your own name or in joint names. You may have a debt in joint names, or want to write to your creditors together because you have worked out a joint budget.
