Sample Letter

Re-negotiate with your domestic energy supplier if your current repayment arrangement is unaffordable (sole name)

Use this letter if you have already got a payment plan to repay your energy debt but you need to change this because you cannot keep up with the payments. Contact us for advice before using this letter.

The payments you offer should cover your current energy bills and repayments on the energy debt you owe. If you cannot afford to pay anything towards your energy debt right now, ask your supplier to pause your debt repayment arrangement until your circumstances improve.

You can choose to send a letter in your own name or in joint names. You may have a debt in joint names, or want to write to your creditors together because you have worked out a joint budget.

  • Fill in your contact details, account number and any extra information you want to include in the grey shaded areas.
  • Today’s date will be added automatically.
  • Sign each letter and enclose a copy of your budget if needed.
