If you are self-employed please tell your status for example, sole trader, partner in a partnership or director of a limited company and also what your business does.

Please tell us what type of home you live in, for example: mortgaged property, rented, boarding with parents, shared ownership or owned outright.

Please tell us what type of business premises you trade from such as, trading from home, business premises with a lease, business premises with a mortgage.

Please give the number of children who live with you under the age of 18 and in full time education and tell us about any other dependants living with you who do not have their own income.

Please tell us roughly how much you think your debts are in total. At this stage, we just need to know the total amount you owe. Please tell us how much of this debt is owed by your business. Include arrears and business and household bills and the total outstanding amount on loans, overdrafts, credit cards, other credit agreements and any other debts. You can include more information about who you owe money to when you describe your query later.

Data protection and confidentiality


By making an enquiry by email, you agree to us replying to the email address that you have given us. Our reply may not be completely confidential if you share an email address at home or at work, as the National Debtline/Business Debtline address may be automatically recorded in your email address book.

Business Debtline will record the information you have provided on our database. We do this so we can give you with follow up advice if you need to contact us again, and so we can collect statistics. The information may also be used for training, supervision and quality assurance purposes. The information will be kept strictly confidential and your details will not be passed to any other organisations without your permission.
